Arc Surveying & Mapping, Inc. provided Terra Contracting Services, LLC /GLDD with topographic, hydrographic, laser scanning, mapping and quantity computing services on a landlocked portion of the Hudson River in Washington County, New York.  Terra, responsible for the excavation and disposal of contaminated sediments from the Hudson River, contracted Arc to perform pre dredge and post dredge surveys to assure compliance with Parsons/General Electric Company Hudson River PCB Super Fund Site requirements.  Push probes of ¾” pipe were required to confirm hard bottom in some of the construction areas.  Arc’s crew members were OSHA certified and participated in daily pre work safety briefings at the site. The project required single beam and multibeam swath surveys of the river including topographic laser scanning of the shoreline for monitoring potential movement. At the end of each day Arc provided xyz files to Terra for import into excavators and for daily mapping. Surveying services were performed under the direction of Arc’s PLS and ACSM Certified Hydrographer.
